Dubai’s Palm island trilogy is a clear symbol of man’s ability and strength to create structures which can pose as a challenging rival to those created by nature. These structures are impressively massive feats of peak engineering skills apart from being one of the major landmarks of the Emirates when it comes to unparalleled beauty and incomprehensible scale.

The idea behind the creation of the Palm islands was to create more beachfront land in Dubai which was earlier very less. The palm shape of the islands is said to be the brain child of the ruler of Dubai who during the initial brainstorming sessions drew a sketch of a palm tree. The fronds of the palm provided more space than a regular circular island and with the help of this insight there came to being the idea of the Palm islands.
There are three separate palm island projects - the Palm Jebel, the Palm Jumeirah and the Palm Deira. Palm Jumeirah was completed first and by the end of the year 2006 the residents. This is known to be the largest reclamation project in the world, and also are the world’s largest islands which can also be seen from space. The creation of these islands involved extensive studies; research and planning for which there was no precedent in the world as far as scale and complexity were concerned. Luxury villas and white sand beaches are not the only things featured on the Palm Jumeirah. Atlantis, The Palm, Dubai is a magnificent construction including the Royal Towers – which are an architectural wonder. With its high arches, beautifully designed domes and ornate spires it is an awe inspiring landmark which overlooks the warm, clear and calm waters of the Arabian gulf.
This resort also has hotel accommodation with 1539 rooms and suites and the first open air marine habitat in the Middle East. Also popular is the Aqua venture which is a large water theme park spread over 17 hectares and features a 2 Km long wave river, tidal pool and a 27.5 meter near vertical drop slide in which people travel through a submerged tunnel into a shark filled lagoon. The entire complex of Atlantis features manicured aquatic gardens and white sand beaches. It opened to the public in the autumn of the year 2008.
Due to such great attractions where people find number of things to do and see, Dubai Holiday is becoming very popular for travelers from all over the world. The westerners especially find that in spite of the small size of the emirate there are always new architectural landmarks coming up.
The other two palm islands are also as mesmerizing and contain many more exciting projects. Hence the landscape of Dubai is exceptionally dynamic and continues to grow making it a preferred destination for a honeymoon, family or luxury holiday making this emirate the foremost vacation destination in the Middle East.
